Where Is The UN?
Is The Blood Of Jewish Children Worth Nothing?
Jerusalem, Israel --- Abducting young boys breaks the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Israeli MK Orly Levy-Abecassis, chairwoman of the Knesset committee on the subject, wrote to United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon and UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake on Sunday.
Levy-Abecassis demanded that the UN ensure the three boys who were kidnapped by Hamas on Thursday are returned home safely.
“The incident shows, among other things, how humanitarian rules were broken and the rights of children in Israel to live their lives safely were violated,” she wrote.
“These are not fighters, they did not take part in combat. They are three young teens who were supposed to be studying for their Bagrut exams and spend time with their families.” “We and the whole world must remember that these are young boys and the UN is responsible for their well-being. They cannot stand aside while they could die despite being innocent,” she wrote.
As of press time, UNICEF did not make any statements about the abduction of the teenage boys.
